Five Elephant - Rwanda Vunga – Filter Roast

The Vunga cooperative is a small station in the Nyabihu district, but punches well above its weight. While only having limited equipment and drying tables, Vunga placed highly in both the 2012 and 2014 Rwanda Cup of Excellence competitions. 

By partnering with Muraho Trading Company, Vunga was able to significantly increase their production in the 2017 harvest. This year MTCo has helped them build a much-needed serpentine grading channel for the 2018 harvest, which helps cut down on labour time and increase the quality of the lots through density grading. With the new washing and grading channel Vunga is able to increase the amount of high quality coffees they produce and their overall production.
